Znake · updated 31 July 2026
The short version
Znake has no accounts, no ads and nothing to buy. Your scores and settings live on your phone and are never sent anywhere. The only thing you send us on purpose is a suggestion, if you choose to write one. Beyond that the game reports anonymous usage and crash information so it can be improved and fixed.
Nothing collected is sold, shared with data brokers, or used to advertise to you.
What stays on your phone
Your best scores, level, games played, achievements and every setting are stored on the device itself. They are not uploaded, they are not backed up to us, and deleting the app deletes them.
What you send deliberately
If you use the suggestion form in settings, the message is sent to our database along with a small amount of context, so that “it is too fast” can be read against the phone it was written on:
- Your message and whether it is an idea or a problemWhat you wrote.
- Your email address — optionalOnly so we can reply. Leave it blank and we have no way to contact you, which is fine.
- App version, platform, phone model and OS versionA complaint about speed or size means different things on different hardware.
- Your language, best score and whether walls were onTells us roughly how far into the game the suggestion comes from.
- The time it arrivedSet by the server, not by your phone.
What the game reports on its own
Znake uses Google Firebase for two things. Analytics records that the game was opened, which screens were seen, and events like starting a run or unlocking an achievement, together with an identifier generated for this installation. That identifier is not your name, your account or your phone’s advertising ID, and deleting the app ends it. Crashlytics sends a report when the game crashes, containing the state of the code at that moment plus the device and OS it happened on.
What is never collected
- Your device nameOn iPhones this is usually its owner's own name. The game reads the model only.
- Your IP addressWe neither collect nor store it. Google's servers necessarily see it while a request is in flight, and Analytics derives only a coarse, country-level location from a masked form of it.
- Contacts, photos, location, microphone or health dataThe game never asks for any of it, and the app does not include the permissions to.
- Anything for advertisingThere are no ads in Znake and no advertising identifier is used.
Where it goes
Suggestions, analytics and crash reports are processed by Google as part of Firebase, and may be stored on Google servers outside your country. Nobody else receives them. Suggestions are read by us and by nobody else; the database is configured so that no visitor can read back what anyone has written, only add their own.
How long it is kept
Suggestions are kept while they are still useful — until the thing they asked for is built, fixed or decided against. Analytics and crash data follow Firebase’s own retention, which is a matter of months rather than forever.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and Turkey’s KVKK you may ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to hello@madeit.ist and it will be done.
If you sent a suggestion without an email address, there is nothing in it that identifies you, so there is also no way for us to find it on your behalf — tell us roughly what you wrote and when.
Children
Znake is a snake game with no chat, no social features and no purchases. It is not directed at children under 13, and it collects nothing that would identify one.
Changes
If what the game collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no version of this policy that is more current than the one you are reading.
